New experience will help to reduce costs of self-service

2012-01-31

Expensive projects of self-service checkouts, which cost a lot of time and efforts, have stopped many retailers, interested in modern technologies. Highly-priced service of foreign specialists - every additional function, for example authorization of loyalty cards, costs extra money - determined a longer period of investment pay off.

NCR Corporation and "New Vision" recently signed a contract, which now allows "New Vision" performing technological and advisory tasks of NCR SelfServ Checkout independently, using Lithuanian resources.

In December 2011, the team of "New Vision" experts had an internship at the headquarters of NCR in Atlanta, USA. The members of thfe company participated in trainings on integration and software modifications of self-service checkouts. These trainings were conducted by Patrick Crowford, software engineer at NCR Selfserv Checkout POS integration department. He is now working on the integral projects in Italy, France and Turkey. During the internship, the specialists deepend their knowledge of software integration with the 3rd parties‘, acquainted with the newest methods of communication, data exchange protocols, the best practices and the most successful projects.

It is important to mention, that at the beginning of 2011, during a special training, the representatives of "New Vision" became acquainted with a methodology of store business consultancy. They acquired competence and tools necessary for providing service of store business consultancy for retailers in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Russia. The most successful projects - Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, etc., were implemented using this methodology and experience.

The experience that was gained allows "New Vision" to provide service of integration individually. This will shorten not only the duration of integration, but reduce the costs of the projects as well. Now self-service checkouts are available for those retailers in Lithuania and the Baltics who want to install the technology faster or who have less stores suitable for self-service checkouts.

"New Vision" has become the first and the only company in the East, Central and North Europe apart from NCR, which is qualified to individually provide a complex of service, necessary for successful installation of any self-service project.
