„New Vision", the leading provider of information technologies for the Baltic retail industry, was distinguished for delivering innovative products to the market and reached a turnover of LTL 31.6 m in 2007.
"Although the turnover did not grow, we are satisfied with our qualitative operating results. In 2007, we focussed our attention on the development of innovative products and improvement of the quality of customer service," says Evaldas Budvilaitis, General Manager of „New Vision".
Works Accomplished
In 2007, „New Vision" expanded the portfolio of maintenance services and standardised customer service by offering new customer service contracts. Furthermore, seeking to ensure better services for customers in the Kurzeme Region, a new office was opened in Ventspils, Latvia.
The company was the first to introduce self-checkout systems in the Baltic countries. This novelty aroused great interest. This is an alternative method of payment which gives privacy to the customer and optimizes processes in the store.
In 2007, „New Vision" launched the implementation of ergonomic solutions and started to form a new approach to retail equipment in sales outlets on the market. Due to the special method of equipment arrangement, it helps speed up customer service, ensures more convenience for employees and requires fewer efforts. In addition, the systems are space-saving and improve the aesthetic view of the store.
In Estonia, „New Vision" started to install DIGI Repant Reverse Vending Machines, which accept not only glass but also multiuse plastic containers and cans.
In 2007, „New Vision" obtained a patent for the multimedia system of data transmission to the customer display. Moreover, it developed Scanline - the software for mobile computers. The company placed its major focus on training. Over 630 working hours were allocated to the NCR FastLane self-checkout system training alone.
The Company Appreciated by Its Partners
The year 2007 was successful for the company's co-operation with its partners.
„New Vision" became the first external partner which NCR entrusted with the installation of FastLane self-checkouts. Until now, the producer used to install these systems itself. NCR is highly satisfied with its co-operation with „New Vision" and invited the company to deliver a presentation in the Conference of NCR Partners, thus encouraging other partners to take interest in the installation of these innovative systems and assume responsibility for this.
DIGI, the long-term partner and a world's leader in retail weighing technology, decided that it is better to have a single official representative for all the three Baltic States and appointed „New Vision" as an official seller of DIGI weighing systems in Latvia as well. Until now the „New Vision" company did not have the right to sell weighing scales in this country.
Furthermore, the company received recognition from Microsoft, with whom it has been co-operating for ten years already. In the autumn of 2007, „New Vision" Baltija was recognised the best Microsoft Business Solutions partner of the year.
Future Focus of „New Vision"
According to financial analysts, the pace of economy growth will slow down in the Baltic Countries. „New Vision" forecasts that retail companies will pay more attention to efficiency increasing systems. Therefore, the company has already prepared a whole package of innovative solutions and products.
„New Vision" is ready to implement business analysis solutions for retail and hospitality. The company has concluded a co-operation agreement with the Norwegian company ProfitBase, which has experience in business analysis, and acquired the first Business Intelligence Developer certificate. Currently, there are only a few hundreds of such specialists in the whole world.
Furthermore, ergonomic solutions will be launched at the cashier's workplace in one of the major supermarkets in the immediate future. Due to the special method of equipment arrangement, they will help speed up customer service and enable cashiers to individually adjust the height of the POS system equipment according to their own height and the work position that is most convenient for them.
This year, „New Vision" will be installing self-checkout systems. In the immediate future, the company will introduce to the Baltic market innovative weighing systems, electronic price labels, different self-checkout systems for payment in sales outlets, etc.
According to Evaldas Budvilaitis, General Manager of „New Vision", "Our expectations for 2008 are that turnover will grow slightly. Besides, the company has plans to enter another specialised retail sector."
